SACKVILLE KITCHEN

This kitchen was something special. When the owners wanted to incorporate natural brickwork throughout the kitchen we had to carefully consider all of the textures involved and also consider the size of the kitchen. This is no doubt a large open plan kitchen layout and so the use of bricks was a little easier. Using natural brick texture within a small kitchen can sometimes seem too confining and In your face.

 This home warranted a very large walk-in pantry area which we incorporated off to the side and is virtually unseen from the main kitchen area. We kept the walk-in pantry area predominantly in timber with high-quality cabinetry surrounding all 4 sides. This is where the fridge was to live and operate from.

The island and serving bench in this kitchen had to lead to a beautiful high ceiling in the living room and also off to a family area for dining. Timber benchtops for both of these adjoining the very thick greystone benchtop of the raised bench area.

Benchtops were to be a very thick 100mm in a natural stone look, a bit like cement  This tied in well with the raw material used and bricks that featured throughout. The owners were ecstatic about this high-end custom kitchen in Sackville.

Notice the splashback in the raw brick finish which we had never tackled previously. It does shout rustic for sure.

There was a support beam that had to be considered and so it was designed to look like part of the overall colour scheme which worked well.
